Grand Rue Haiti
In 2009, Pascal Giacomini participated in the 2nd Ghetto Biennale, an art event set in the Grand Rue neighborhood of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, one of the most poverty-stricken neighborhoods on the planet. After working alongside fellow sculptors for three weeks in this environment, he created three large-scale sculptures (he’s the white guy in one of the photos!), and the experience altered his creative process. Welcome to a slice of life in a sector known as much for its harsh living conditions as for its exuberant production of local art.
